Soul Performance Academy Announces Sponsorship

630 VB Slunkers Professional Volleyball Team

NEW CUMBERLAND, PA — Soul Performance Academy is pleased to announce a sponsorship agreement with 630 VB Slunkers, a professional volleyball team based out of the Chicagoland land area.  The 630 Slunkers will be participating in the Tier 2 program of the Volleyball League of America (VLA).  Soul Performance Academy will be the official provider of  mental performance training and solutions for the organization.

“630 Volleyball has been a great partner in the past few years on the youth volleyball scene.  It just seemed like a natural fit to join them as they venture in to the professional arena.  The VLA has proven to be not only an entertaining league that showcases some of the best male athletes in the nation, but also as a viable and sustainable league.  We are very excited about this opportunity and look forward to growing our relationship with Nick and Tim, and the entire 630 Volleyball organization” says Dan Mickle, founder of Soul Performance Academy.

“We are beyond excited to bring on Dan Mickle, Mental Performance Coach, as we launch our first ever professional volleyball team. Dan has been instrumental in developing our youth athletes at the club level to compete at the highest levels, and it was a no-brainer to bring him on at the professional level.  We have the same goals in developing the complete athlete and helping athletes compete at the highest level possible. We are looking forward to our continued partnership and competing for the VLA” comments Nick Maruyama, Head Coach of 630 Slunkers and Club Director for 630 Volleyball.

The VLA season kicks off in January at the West Cup in Orange County California with the Central Cup being hosting in Chicago on March 5th and 6th.

About 630 Volleyball

630 Volleyball was founded with a simple mission in mind: to create a space for athletes in the Chicagoland-area to come together to earn National Championships and prepare for collegiate volleyball careersThe first part of this mission — to earn National Championships — is fairly straightforward. This may sound like a lofty goal for a newer club, but we can’t help but have it. We recognize that stating this goal publicly makes us vulnerable to criticism, but we are not looking for the easy route here at 630 Volleyball. We would much rather be true to ourselves and our passions; competing to be the best of the best is what motivates and drives us.  The second part of this mission is to prepare athletes for collegiate volleyball careers. As volleyball in Chicago has grown in popularity, so has the interest in playing volleyball beyond the high-school level. This is fantastic for the sport, and 630 Volleyball is in the unique position to be able to help players with their collegiate playing goals.
